    Hi,

A couple of months ago I had my kitchen floor tiled. Recently I have seen the grout cracking and coming away around numerous tiles, i think it could be due to movement in the subfloor? The tiler used cement backer board and plenty of cement.

Any advice on how this should be dealt with so I have an idea before I contact the tiler would be greatly appreciated, thankyou.

Could also be he didn't spread the adhesive evenly, but more likely the floor moving. Is it a wooden floor underneath it all?

I think tiling over wooden floors like that is always a risk. They should have told you that.

Movement in the floor is the problem.A serious amount of screws are needed to help minimise this.I put screws in every 100mm by eye.its tedious but necessary, and also flexible adhesive and grout.Ask your tiler how the sheets are fixed and how often fixings were used.
