    Which would you choose?

Tenerife , Fuertaventura or Puerto Rico in Canary Islands

    for 10 days in June.

    1 couple (no children)

Don't drive so would need to stay near to bars/restaurants/beaches etc.

Not sure which one to choose.. we would ideally like a water park nearby too and maybe some options of excursions/day time activities.

Having only been to Puerto Rico back about 5 years ago would not go back very commercialized and no comfort with staff trying to pull you into shops and restaurants. Not much to do if you are not into lying by the pool. Loved matagorda in lanzarote lots of lovely restaurants great cycling and walking routes to the airport and lost of options for day trips. Did go on a day trip to fuerteventura from lanzarote was very nice with all the sand dunes

Costa Adeje in Tenerife is well suited to someone with no transport. Good shopping (Siam Mall for one), waterpark x 2 ( Aqualand & Siam Park) and courtesy buses for the Siam Mall & Park. Also only 1/2 hour from TFS Reina Sofia airport. You can walk to Playa de las Americas along the seafront. Excursions to Mt Teide, La Gomera, whale & dolphin spotting etc. There are several safe beaches all one after the other. My preferred spot on Tenerife.

Puerto Rico is very busy, 2 new shopping malls opened as well as the old original one. Beach is nice. Lots of excursions. Waterpark in Taurito which is nearby. Coastal path to Amadores which is a lovely beach only about 20 mins walk. However my favourite spot on GC is Puerto de Mogán but I think that's maybe a bit too quiet for what you mentioned.

Fuerteventura is still a lot less developed than the others. There is a waterpark in Corralejo I believe now.

If it was a choice between the 3 above I'd go for Costa Adeje on Tenerife.

Check out skyline webcams there are lots on Tenerife & Gran Canaria and you get live feed.

This is one in Costa Adeje that we've been to many times.

Throw Lanzarote into the mix and Puerto del Carmen is as busy as you like. Lovely resort plenty of good bars/restaurants and beach. The Matagorda end is maybe quieter. Only 15 mins from airport.

    Transport :

Both GC ( www.globalsu.es ) and Tenerife ( www.titsa.com ) have bus services that put Dublin Bus & Bus Eireann to shame

Its summer all year round there :

If you dont *have* to take your holidays in summer then consider going there in the winter. Its a great way to break up the Irish winter.

Have you considered bringing your walking boots :
