Changing over utilities

I rent out an apartment and the tenant is leaving at the weekend. I presume he will inform electricity/gas/broadband that he is leaving and will pay up to that date.
Do I then need to put these utilities in my name until a new tenant moves in or how do I go about doing it? I presume there is some connection fee which will be a bit of a pain as it's just for a few weeks!

When I moving out they ask who the next tenant is and I don't know
Moved it always back in the name of the landlord and it will be up to him if he goes on with them or not
    Up to you
