our club has been invited to take part in a night time st patricks day parade, we did it before and set up 2 turbos on a trailer and put lights on the wheels and it was good enough, i'd like to do something a little more detailed this time, ive seen videos of guys using alternators to generate power from bikes and this is interesting and we probably have guys that could do it but its maybe a bit too in depth, what i was wondering was if the old style bottle dynamos would be able to power a set of led lights ( cheap x mas lights ) and does anyone have any recomendations for a decent / cheap ish ones, trying to keep costs down, we might set up 5 or 6 bikes on turbos on a trailer and if we had dynamos on each would we be able to power a few lines ? maybe not, maybe one guy with an alternator / generator set up might work out cheaper .. anyway .. all suggestions welcome
