Strange build-up on brake disks

    Passat 2010 1.6 TDI
Relative purchased it May last, as part of deal was all new disks and pads.
Up till this week all was good, however, car was parked for 3 weeks, hand break ON.
Wednesday, on release-and-move was bit of "knock".
Anyway, after first day of back-on-the-road getting report about "knocking" sound - i say: monitor and report, i will look at it on weekend(driving distance 2x5 km per day).
Today - "knocking" is louder and now some vibration, worse when on breaks. So got car in, test drive - defo some wrong with rear passenger side. Breaks work perfect but vibration and knocking calling for service.

Inspected wheel, pads, hub and all seem good. Noticed strange "stain" on the disk - its not rust, but some sort very thin build-up. It was about 3/4 wide across surface. Scratched it and sanded of face side as there is no access to back side - knocking is gone, but feeling on breaks still no 100%
It must be thin layer on pads material got stuck/pealed off - will need to reinspect all disks/pads and replace.

Recommendations on pads brand that will last and wont break the bank?

A local motor factor or Micks garage will have a good range from budget price upwards.

I see Bosch and Brembo for around €17 upwards for a rear set and both are good brands.

    Link.

www.mister-auto.ie It does all depend on the specs of your car though. Try ring your local motor factor as well. Micks garage too.
