Anyone here exclusively watch either British news or International news? For me, I'd watch BBC World News or CNN International. Couldn't be arsed to watch RTE except the odd time they have an interesting programme.

Pfft, if you're watching news that doesn't have the angelus before it it's not worth watching.

    Glazers Out!

Anyone watching or listening to the news needs their heads checked for brains. Ignoring the news leads to a much better quality of life. The relish that the journalists have when reporting murders and abuse is ghoulish. The media has way more influence in our lives than is healthy for any society.

Do yourself a favour and turn off the news for a few days. See how much difference it makes to your mood.

    I just like cats.

I don't watch the news but I consume a lot of it via the web and apps. Not judging but are you an immigrant or lived away a long while? Just a guess as I wouldn't blame you as Ireland is so small the news here might seem somewhat provincial. The argument could be made of those who only watch only Irish news would be akin to a German who solely focused in Berliner news and politics. I'm somewhat guilty of primarily following UK/US news as road deaths aren't news and the latest public fiasco often pales in comparison to what's going on out there. The fact we don't have bigger things to worry about can even be reassuring. That said, it's worth having RTE and Met Eireann apps installed for big stuff (elections) or something close to home (Connacht tribune and Advertiser for me). No sense being so worldly you don't pay attention to your own backyard.

"News" is really only another form of entertainment, most of it isn't relevant and items that are dealt with in a limited scope

I wouldn't watch CNN in a fit and iv'e zero time for Donald Trump. Fox either. They left fair and balanced reporting behind a long long time ago. As bad as RTE is i think it's just through sheer incompetency instead of agenda driven bias (for the most part)

I tune in now to see which TD has been shouting "Up the Ra" or posting anti-Semitic tweets today.

Irish news is likely to be a lot more entertaining for the next few years.
