Waiting list for dermatologist appointment in Ireland?

Say you need something that requires early removal like, Melanoma - removed - do you still need to stay on the waiting list for like, however long; a year? With private health insurance, any way to be seen more quickly?

There are dedicated dermatology clinics for melanomas called Pigmented Lesion Clinics. The theory is that people are seen within 2 weeks of referral. In practice where I am, people are seen within 6 weeks.
