As said above, pedigreequery, and I've added a few others.
Of course, none of them is as good as mine (622,903 horses).

    https://www.pedigreequery.com/
    http://www.france-galop.com/fr/hommes-chevaux/chevaux
    https://www.jbis.jp/index.html

    https://loveracing.nz/stud-book/search.aspx
    https://sporthorse-data.com/pedigree
    http://www.equineline.com/Free-5X-Pedigree.cfm

The racingaustralia one never fails if pedigreequery does not have it.
    pedigreequery is not always correct.

If I look at Denman (https://www.pedigreequery.com/denman2)

    In the header string:

    "DENMAN (IRE) br. G, 2000 {4} DP = 0-1-1-6-2 (10) DI = 0.18 CD = -0.90 - 14 Starts, 13 Wins, 1 Places, 0 Shows Career Earnings: £ 677,114 (3/08)"

    "{4}" - what is this?
"DP = 0-1-1-6-2 (10)" - what is DP and what do the numbers stand for? The 10 seems to be the sum of them
    "DI" - Dosage Index?
    "CD" - What is this?

DP is dosage profile , the five numbers represent a horses range of speed / stamina read left to right . These are calculated based on certain dominant sires (chef de races) appearing in the pedigree .

DI is dosage index (higher for sprinters , lower for stayers) and CD is centre of distribution , both relate to the ratio of speed / stamina and are derivatives of the Dosage Profile .

That’s a very basic explanation of it , other lads on here would know a lot more about it than me but there’s loads of books and info to be found if you’re interested in it

Thanks very much. Not really into the breeding side of things but can see a need for it and the current offering could be improved.

weatherbys used to do a free online pedigree check
it would list all the dams offspring, those that were named but never ran & also all the foals she breed including sire info
    this has now stopped

anyone know of any free equivalent?
    Thanks

On pedigreequery select REPORTS on top left, then PROGENY.
The list of progeny may not be complete.

For Britain and Ireland you will get that info in the General Stud Book (Weatherbys), about Euro 350, issued every four years. I always buy it.
For the years between GSB publications use the Return of Mares (Weatherbys). Yeah, I buy that too, about Euro 80 a year.

That is the Bruce Lowe family number.
    http://www.tbheritage.com/HistoricDams/FamilyNumbers.html

The family number has no practical use, is not a guide to ability. It is useful to see if horses in a pedigree are from the same female lines (same Bruce Lowe number).
Unfortunately, pedigreequery do not show the family numbers on screen.
In the TesioPower software package I use they do show the family numbers on screen.
It can indicate horses are related, perhaps further back in their pedigrees than you can see in a 5 or 6 generation pedigree.

I spent the last four months of 2019 changing my Bruce Lowe family numbers from plain e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to the more detailed 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, 1f and so on.

Seeing the family numbers on a pedigree can give clues to the source of ability.
An example is the French mare, Goldikova, winner of 14 Group 1 races.
Her dam, Born Gold, traces in female line to Black Ray (b 1919) (family 22d) in both her sire and her dam. That gave me a clue.
When you look at Anabaa, the sire of Goldikova, you find Black Ray on his dam line.
The filly Black Ray three times on the dam lines of Goldikova, the best female runner in decades? Why on the dam lines?
The influential sires Mill Reef (b 1968) and Blushing Groom (b 1974) also have Black Ray (22d) on their dam lines in the 5th generation.
    Coincidence or not?

You would think that horse owners would pick a name for their horse that is unique and interesting.
You often need the "horse name + family number + date of birth" to give a horse a unique "name", e.g. Absolutelyfabulous (2) (2003)

These were all born in 2003:
Absolutelyfabulous (2) by O'Reilly; Absolutelyfabulous (3) by Langfuhr; Absolutelyfabulous (9) by Mozart; Act Of God (1) by Thunder Gulch; Act Of God (9) by Black Minnaloushe; Against The Grain (1)1 by Pivotal; Against The Grain (1)2 by Prime Timber; Ambika (1) by Danehill Dancer; Ambika (3) by Indian Danehill; Arcangela (6) by Galileo; Arcangela (7) by Galileo; Ascot Lady (16) by Lode; Ascot Lady (2) by Spinning World; Aver (5) by Fasliyev; Aver (9) by Pine Bluff; Black Snake (13) by Eagle Eyed; Black Snake (14) by More Than Ready; Bling (1) by Mark Of Esteem; Bling (11) by O'Reilly; Bollywood (31) by Astarabad; Bollywood (B3) by Indian Rocket; Bomber Command (1) by Stravinsky; Bomber Command (21) by Testa Rossa; Brunelleschi (12) by Bertolini; Brunelleschi (14) by Luhuk; Celestial Princess (2) by High Yield; Celestial Princess (3) by Observatory; Cross (3) by Phone Trick; Cross (9) by Mighty; Dancing Forever (10) by Keeper; Dancing Forever (20) by Rahy; Danehill Princess (14) by Danehill; Danehill Princess (22) by Danehill; Double Trouble (2) by Sea Hero; Double Trouble (26) by Wild Event; Ekleel (20) by Fantastic Light; Ekleel (3) by Danehill; Elle Belle (20) by El Prado; Elle Belle (4) by Kenvain; Fantastica (1)1 by Fantastic Light; Fantastica (1)2 by Big Shuffle; Final Bid (19) by Mujadil; Final Bid (5) by Silver Charm; Flanders Fields (25) by A P Indy; Flanders Fields (3) by Traditionally; French Beret (14) by Broad Brush; French Beret (24) by Peintre Celebre; Friendship (4) by Ghadeer; Friendship (A13) by French Deputy; Galileo’s Star (21) by Galileo; Galileo’s Star (4) by Galileo; Hidden Charm (8) by Big Shuffle; Hidden Charm (9) by Silver Charm; Highway (13) by King’s Theatre; Highway (2) by Banyumanik; Hot Deputy (1) by Silver Deputy; Hot Deputy (22) by Deputy Governor; Hot Fudge (2) by Lomitas; Hot Fudge (23) by Fusaichi Pegasus; Kept (1) by Bahri; Kept (3) by Keeper; Kitty Hawk (14) by Danehill Dancer; Kitty Hawk (4) by Commands; Lacada Point (1) by Giant’s Causeway; Lacada Point (7) by Giant’s Causeway; Lavender Rose (1) by Kalanisi; Lavender Rose (21) by Favorite Trick; Lucky Find (16) by Key Of Luck; Lucky Find (A1) by Rich Man’s Gold; Magic Hour (1)1 by Fantastic Light; Magic Hour (1)2 by Sunday Silence; Middle West (15) by Saumarez; Middle West (7) by Interprete; Myskina (4) by Cryptoclearance; Myskina (8) by Xaar; Nanosecond (2) by Dehere; Nanosecond (9) by Kingmambo; Narvik (4)1 by Galileo; Narvik (4)2 by Dashing Blade; Nirvana (22) by Kenvain; Nirvana (9) by Sunday Silence; One Perfect Day (2) by Rubiano; One Perfect Day (5) by Fusaichi Pegasus; Out Of Control (1) by Cape Cross; Out Of Control (3) by Vettori; Palpitante (3) by Belo Colony; Palpitante (7) by Regal Classic; Power Shift (1) by Tale Of The Cat; Power Shift (2) by Millkom; Quantum (1) by Alhaarth; Quantum (4) by Fantastic Light; Queens Bounty (14)1 by Bahamian Bounty; Queens Bounty (14)2 by Spectrum (1); Right Stuff (16) by Bahhare; Right Stuff (8) by Dansili; Rosella (22) by General Assembly; Rosella (9) by Jallad; Royal Honor (22) by Highest Honor; Royal Honor (A4) by Highest Honor; Safari King (13) by Lode; Safari King (3) by Orpen; Samba Queen (1) by Jeune; Samba Queen (8) by Giant’s Causeway; Sea Queen (10) by Sea Hero; Sea Queen (7) by King Charlemagne; Sharapova (19) by Elusive Quality; Sharapova (23) by Sunday Silence; Shinkosan (1) by Shinko Forest; Shinkosan (6) by Shinko Forest; Sir Xaar (3) by Xaar; Sir Xaar (9) by Xaar; Sky Bird (2) by Jallad; Sky Bird (8) by Here We Come; Sky Bird (9) by Galileo; Smart Enough (14) by Cadeaux Genereux; Smart Enough (16) by Horse Chestnut; Stolen Thunder (22) by Thunder Gulch; Stolen Thunder (3) by Thunder Gulch; Strife (4) by Fit To Fight; Strife (6) by Stravinsky; Succeed (1)1 by Elnadim; Succeed (1)2 by Halo Sunshine; Succeed (22) by Coronado’s Quest; Summer Shower (1) by Sadler’s Wells; Summer Shower (8) by Summer Squall; Supernova (5) by Tale Of The Cat; Supernova (7) by Stravinsky; That’s Hot (2) by Namid; That’s Hot (8) by Seeking The Gold; True Yield (1) by High Yield; True Yield (17) by High Yield; Western Sky (14) by Gone West; Western Sky (26) by Barathea; Witch (11) by Eagle Eyed; Witch (14) by Numerous.
