I'm looking to trade a 2017 Megane Grand Coupe Signature Nav Spec. Automatic diesel. 70k km on the clock.

What do we think I can reasonably expect? Been offered 14k against a new C5 Aircross. Which is not bad but I was thinking 15k/16k but again, I'm try to gauge if that is realistic or not. It's in good condition. Much lower specs are asking 19k straight.

I haven't shopped around yet and will do so the weekend

The ones asking €19k are dreaming.
    Shop around, shop the country.

Can't unfortunately, Baby number 2 required a double buggy and I need the larger boot. Very happy with the Megane otherwise in fairness

Yeah no doubt they are dreaming and wont get it but they may get close to it. Similar spec are also in and around that level too. Essentially if the dealer listed my trade at that level he's looking at keeping say 4000 (assuming generous prep costs before listing it) which is why I'm thinking he's chancing his arm a little. And was not interested in discounting on the new car either. Anyway, I'll shop the Dublin dealers over the weekend.

    Cheers.

Why not buy a Renault Kadjar or a nearly new Koleos if a new one is too much or you could just get a Megane sports tourer the estate in otherwords. You will get a better deal from Renault than any other dealer because you car is a Renault.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Kadjar didn't fit the bill and while I do love the Koleos, it only came in diesel which we no longer have a need for and starting a 40k, I felt they were way overpriced. At that, Renault only gave a little bit more when I went to them and had to push them.

Ultimately I voted with my feet and pushed the boat out for new Kodiaq Ambition 1.5 DSG which I'll collect end of the week/start of next week. Plumped for a 7 seater given we may decide to add to our family and put that phase behind us :D
