    Hi,

We have a water softener installed in our house for the past 5 years and it has been working great. The thing is i will be setting up a planted aquarium and water from a water softener is toxic to the plants. The water softener is fitted in the kitchen and hard to get a look at the plumbing without removing part of the kitchen.

Does anyone know how i can tell if my outside tap water is softened or not.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jason
