Hi all, I'm torn between buying either a 2014 Honda Insight or 2014 Honda Fit. I've read so many reviews on both and I just can't decide. Does anyone have any advise or opinions on which would be a long lasting reliable car? Ideally I want to keep it for 5+ years. Thanks, Alli

I would favour the fit, as it's a simpler car over the hybrid system in the insight. However... The fit is a second hand hap import, which might have insurance implications. The jazz is the Irish equivalent.

What’s the difference in the hybrid system? I thought both were pretty basic?

You would know more than me. My experience in the extended family is that we generally own nearly brand new cars for 8-12 years. Not a huge pool or sample size. But there's been two hybrids and both hybrids; 07 prius and 08 Honda civic ima both failed in battery/hybrid system requiring major work on about their 9th year. Both were repaired and sold on, but owners were disappointed.

Simple manual petrols we've always managed to sell on privately at time of choosing, with out drama.

I thought the OP was looking at a Fit Hybrid for some reason
