Off standard Sky install

    Hey,

So a couple of years ago we bought an old house in the countryside. Neighbours have satellite dishes across road but our house didn't but we thought that was due to the fact the owners were very elderly and not interested.

So I booked Sky to come and install a couple of days after we got the keys. Turns out our location (bottom of valley) and with plenty of neighbors trees that the only reception available is out at the front gate or back corner of shed at end of land which is about 45m from the house.

Sky have 3 times sent out installers (as I am happy to put on shed - its a large farm shed type) and every time refused as is an 'off standard install' even though I have made that very clear in all pre-call outs. Putting dish on house is not an option with trees so maybe on shed or on pole fixed to shed??

Has anybody had to resolve a problem like this before and can offer some guidance on how to go about getting it sorted?

Get a good independent installer to sort the dish first, then call sky. Sky lads have terrible working conditions and may not have the time.
I dont think 45m should be too far, bury a water pipe or similar, good quality cable and put in a spare.

You should contact Sky on their Talk To forum here on boards. Explain your situation with the last 3 call-outs. They may be able to do something for you. I know they have a specialist team for non standard installations.
