Wonder will they commemorate when they shot Michael Collins?
Hard to know what colour scheme best represents shame though.

Well I'd say white for Michael Collins.

I like it and I’m glad to see some aren’t afraid of being Irish rather than looking for a little belly rub all the time.

Can’t imagine Charlie Flanagan and Michael Martin will be too happy with this , Pat Kenny and the Sunday independent will be worse .
Fair play to the Rebel County remembering it’s republican dead who fought the British when they were in the south . Terence McSwiney died on Hunger Strike for a United Ireland which we still don’t have ☹️

    Hurrah for the Rebel County!

That's not why it's called the Rebel County.

I love when people roll out those photos. It's like they can't comprehend that there may actually be one or two British people actually living in Ireland. ;)

Did they have any issue in 2016, when the pic in the article is from?

I thought that article said "Cork hurlers to wear special Black and Tan jersey"

    Le shock!

The original meaning of the nickname has been pointed out on this forum many times but let's be honest the more contemporary meaning relates to Cork's role in Ireland's war of independence (1919-1921).

Well two blokes nobody's ever heard of certainly deserve they're own jersey.

When will we leave this shoite where it belongs?

Cork’s role in the independence tends to be overstated by barstool historians from Cork. The origins of the name relate to the city of Cork’s loyalty to an English monarch during the war of the roses.

The place was known as Loyal Cork long before it was the rebel county

There's about 17 grammar mistakes and typos in that article, it most definitely is the Cork Evening Echo. Monkeys with typewriters would be insulting to monkeys.

That's just what we wanted them to think, like.

Really? You wouldn't happen to be sitting on a barstool by any chance?!
    • McSwiney died in October '20
    • Ireland was partitioned in May '21

You do dishonour to our patriot dead by your Rubber Bandits reading of history. Crack a book.
