    Hey guys

Failed NCT yesterday and need a new coil spring at the front and two new brake discs on the front also.

Local garage who i used before says it will cost about 250-280 to fix(including labour) - does this sound right?

    How would we know?

Sounds cheap but is it a Lamborghini or a Cinquecento?

Apologies - important detail to leave out!

    Its a 2010 Ford Fiesta

Would you only replace one spring though?

I'd say you'd be fine doing one in fairness. Shocks, not so much.

OP, you're better off replacing these things (springs) in pairs to prevent imbalance issues (the car is 10 years old so the other sprint is probably weaker than the brand new you are putting on)

good call, have it booked in for next Tuesday so will get it all sorted then. Garage is very good to be fair, just wanted to check with a few knowledgeable heads here!

A spring is about €30 and another €50 to fit it. I’d do the two front springs if you intend on keeping the car another while.

Make sure new pads are fitted with the new disks, old pads/new disks not a good idea.
