For a 80e speeding fine, If I let it roll on through the 28 and 56 day pay period, do I automatically get a court summons or is this manually done. My understanding was there was a report done few years ago (which I now cant find) which showed the % of speeding fines that actually end up in court to be something like 50%. If not automatically sent, I'm thinking of holding out and if it does happen to come, just paying before the 7 day period. Anyone know? Cheers.

Why aren't you just paying it?

Basically if pay it now its 80 euro and 3 points, if you don't pay it and 28 days elapse you'll have to pay 120 euro and 3 points, if 56 days elapse you'll be summoned to court where you'll get 5 points and a fine up to 1,000 euro.

There's a high chance it'll go to court, just pay the 80 euro and keep the speed down in future. That article you posted is 4 years old by the way.
