As the ad says looking for a single speed for a learner, have an Islabike 16 cnoc to sell/trade as well as it's too small.
Frog or Islabike 20 would be perfect..open to anything though..

What age would the Cnoc 16 suit. Looking for a first bike for a 6 year old and I don't want to buy new as I think he will need to go to a larger sized bike reasonably quickly once comfortable on it.

Depends on their height my guy is 6 but he's in 9/10 clothes. hence I need a 20, have another 16 his year younger brother uses which should do him for years.

Thanks. My 6 year old definitely falls into the average category. I'll measure his height tomorrow, but I think it might suit. Before even getting to the price, what part of the country are you in?

OK, mght be able to make that work. I'm from Monaghan but regularly in Dublin. I'll get the height checked and come back to you tomorrow if that's OK.

I'd say you could be stretching it with the 16 he might be better off with a 20.
If he can't cycle on his own yet have a look at a bikybiky jacket your back will thank you. https://bikybiky.uk/shop/bike-accessories/childrens-training-vests/kids-cycling-harness-blue

Unfortunately I think you are correct. Got the tape out today and unfortunately his inside leg in his bare feet are exactly the maximum that is recommended. I probably wouldn't get 6 months out of it so I'll have to pass.

Thanks for getting back to me and best of luck with sale/search for a replacement.

Check out the sizing on this it might be too small as well http://www.adverts.ie/19819272 my soon to be 5yr old has one and the saddle is still down as low as it'll go. I'll be holding onto mine for his little sister when he's finished with it.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. He's at the limit for the recommended height, but there is much more room to play with on the saddle height. I might also check the Cuda bikes that my LBS stock. Won't be as light but better than most.

It's proving to be more awkward than I expected. The jump from 16" to 20" is a big one.
