I know they are almost obsolete nowadays but I'm looking for recommendations on the best and most up to date road map.

    Thanks

Ordinance Survey maps were good back in the day...

The ordinance survey maps are excellent for detail but the issue is the updating as new roads are opened and old ones closed.
I think the best sources are on-line maps are these are regularly updated. If motoring then I would invest in a good sat nav or use a smart phone.
