Are all cards that are bought for satellite boxes the same?

If I have an amiko box, what card is suitable?
What's happening is I have three boxes in my parents house which aren't used. The recent storm moved the sky dish so I wired up one of the boxes to the Ariel and its in use now. But I don't have all the channels we had with the dish. So if I buy a card do I have to specify what box it's going onto?
There's an amiko, a digihome and another black one which name I can't recall.

Sky cards only work in Sky boxes.

Connecting to the aerial gets you Saorview channels, the dish gets you UK channels, by connecting to the aerial you are most likely getting the Irish channels. The Amiko (if its a combo) could get you Saorview and UK channels but would need to be connected to both aerial and dish
