    Hi
I've got a new boiler and heating system (oil) about 9 months old and I want to get an app for turning it on or off from my phone.

Can anyone recommend a good app?
I don't really want spangly bells and whistles, just on / off :o

    Thanks.

i use sonoff relays and ewelink app.

A relay on the rads motorized valve, and another on the cylinder one.

I also used those, but now use this wifi Thermostat.

It could do with a better range of timers, but not too bad at all.

Nest is great, had the netatamo and done the job great and could put thermostat anywhere as ran on batteries if you wanted.

I'd never heard of Ember before until I asked about smart heating controls on a plumbing Facebook group. I made up a poll with the big names like Nest, Hive, Climote etc. Another plumber added the option for Ember. Almost every plumber voted for Ember! I don't know what is the best, I still haven't changed from Climote, but Irish plumbers certainly rate Ember very highly.

I had it installed as part of an oil boiler replacement, the plumbers doing the work recommended it. The app is great - a recent UI update makes it very user friendly - and works well for turning zones on/off manually, setting schedules, setting target temps, etc.

Thanks everyone - I am going to go for Ember app. Every Irish plumber can't be wrong!
