    Hi all

Will be visiting Luxembourg for 3 nights in May.

First time in the country, is the best place to base myself in the capital itself?

    Any recommendations appreciated! :)

It probably is. The rail network is decent and is centred around Luxembourg City. Depending on what you want, the south of the country is where the sights are and the north is more valleys for walking. Taxis are quite expensive, so rail is key.

Have only been to the city so can't comment on anywhere else. Visit the casemates.

Vianden and a few of the other castles are worth a visit. Some nice villages in the north that migjt be a bit of a nuisance to visit with public transport. But public transport is quite good there and i tjink its free now
