Cant reassemble Mira Vigour Thermostatic Dials

The dials were turned to on -full power
The temperature was also up to max
I disassembled according to manual- pried them off- nothing broke, cracked etc

Now when I put them back on the dials dont turn down the power
The temperature dials will change temperature though

The only way to turn it on and off is the power switch outside the bathroom
There is something I havent lined up properly to power the machine down/on

Anyone have any ideas?
