Taxable income on DA

I'm wondering how taxes work if you take up a part-time job while on DA.

I know you can make up to €120 or so a week, so is just that amount taxed?

There are no special tax rules for people on DA. Your wages are taxed in the normal way. If you are only earning €120 a week though it is most likely you will be under the threshold for PAYE.

You can earn €120 a week without it affecting your DA payment. You seem to be getting confused between social welfare and revenue.
