Albufeira Hotel Recommendation

My wife and I are planning to spend a few days in Albufeira in April, we are both in our early sixties so not very interested in noisy areas with nightclubs and rowdiness, would prefer a nice area reasonably central within walking distance of bars & restaurants.

Could anybody recommend a decent 4 star hotel not overcrowded with kids, have a few bob saved so price is not a huge issue.

Vila Petra, far enough away from the strip to be quiet but close enough if you fancy some life

Luna Solaqua. It’s about 10 mins walk to both the new town and old town. Taxi around €4 and next to Albuferia Shopping.

I'd say the old town would be better for you than the new town area. Sol e mar. Or cerro mar garden. Far enough away from nightclubs but great spots. Waited in Vila Petra aswell nice place but might involve more walking and taxis. That's just my opinion. Loads of nice hotels at 4star

Bear in mind Albufeira is quite hilly, a couple in their 60's might struggle if not near the main areas. I'd recommend the old town - try and get somewhere close to the square if you do book.

Sol e mar better than cerro mar garden. Re hills But 60s is not old really. Depends on how much abuse one has taken 👍 they might be fitness freaks

To be honest I was thinking of my parents when I posted that. You could be right, hope I'm that fit when I'm 65 or so!

I've stayed in sol e mar, its great right on beach, nice breakfast, 10 second walk to old town, there are few steps down to old town but you can get hotel elevator to beach and no steps to old town, no outdoor pool though. They have indoor pool though.

Rocamar Hotel 2 mins up road from Sol e mar, very nice if you get seaview with balcony, if not I wouldn't bother . Pool over looks the beach.

Next door to Rocamar is lovely portugese style villa sao Vicente hotel never stayed there but looks very nice.

All in quite area but close to everything.
