    Folks

2 nights in Cork (Basic Hotel) - €230

3 nights in Liverpool (Basic Hotel) Including Flights from Knock - €240

Two nights in Cork is €10 less expensive than 3 nights in Liverpool..... and I would be driving 4 hours to Cork and then back again.

    I'm just stunned at this!

    What's so stunning?
Cork is a better city then Liverpool & lots more to do in the area.
Also, you may have to drive 4 hours to cork, but you have to drive to the airport, a certain amount of time before your flight, go through security, no doubt buy somethings in the airport, & pay for transport to & from the airport or parking at the airport.
    So... Much of a muchness

£20 taxi to liverpool city centre or take the train or bus. 30 minute flight. A couple of pints in the airport before your flight.

Doesn’t knock charge 10 euro per passenger levy?

It has nothing to do with the airlines, you pay cash direct to the airport

Is there no hotels closer to you, i wouldn't drive 8 hours to stay for 2 nights if i got it for free ,anytime we go away we pick a hotel within an hours drive, do some shopping and take a scenic drive for a spot of lunch. I also found over the years a good 3 star in Ireland is a lot better than a three star in
    Britain or the continent.

This. Used to drive long distances to hotels. Now stay within an hours drive for short breaks. Much more enjoyable.
