Don't know a massive amount about ploughing except its something I'd like to try out and practice.

Will go 3 furrow reversible. Tractor wouldn't handle a 4 furrow reversible.

Are parts still easily got for these plough as there probably old at this stage.

I presume this is a 14inch plough. What exactly does 14 inch 16 inch mean? That it plough 14 inch wide or deep? Or is a 16 inch plough the one to go for?

Headstocks usually have a crack or two where the toplink goes on. In fairness though that one looks well minded. 14 inches is the width between furrows.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

If your ground is stoney would spring loaded be an advantage

That is spring loaded. Kvernelands have a green leaf spring type auto reset for when you got a stone. I bought a 4 furrow version exactly the same model for a mate of mine. I used it a couple of times. Behind a 100hp tractor which was no bother to tractor.
Headstock is weak point. Think it's called a 120 Headstock

    Definitely Springs over shear pins.
We had a similar plough way back. Did a lot of ploughing with her. 120 headstock should be fine with 3 furrows but bolt in another body and you’re putting a lot of pressure on a small shaft and housing. A bounce or hop as you’re turning and it could be tears. I know.....
It’s an old headstock and the turning mechanism was in very tight to the back of the tractor. Came close to clattering the top link and had to careful of snagging the hydraulic pipes as it turned.
But if it’s in good condition and the money is right could be worth a punt.

So you could technically make a plough like this 4 furrow? Also from reading other forums there seems to be the world of different bodies, again something I have no clue of. Has this number 8 bodies or how would I know what it has?

You could make that plough 2 or 4 leg if you wanted.
No.8 are a general purpose and most common type board so are probably what’s on that plough.

It looks to be in nice condition from the photos, new metal etc. the correct wrenches on the headstock and dry stored.
You'd want to see it in the flesh, and even then if there's a twist in the beam you won't know until you plough with it.
I presume the photo is actually the plough that's for sale?
It's just that don't see the "rubber land wheel" he mentions.....

And has number 8 boards any relation to whether its 14 inch or 16 inch?

It’s got a 110 headstock which is the worst headstock KV ever made. Those headstocks kept Mike Roche of Wexford in business when there wasn’t much else around.

Rubber land wheel? Looks steel to me?

The no.8 bodies were ok, and usually came on 14” ploughs at that time. The interbody clearance looks to be 80cm which means it doesn’t really allow for much trash to be buried, eg straw etc.

It’s worth a little bit more than what it weighs...not worth much for scrap either as all the metal etc is so dated.
Of all the ploughs that KV made, those 3 furrow 110 headstock models were a dog to set up properly.
