seeking advice about aortic bicuspid valve

I just found out I have an aortic bicuspid valve but the consultant gave me no advice about life changes or anything. I am 46 and the defect was detected because I have developed a heart murmur. As far as I understand this means my heart is under increased, constant strain and the valve is on the way to failure, although the time span can vary a great deal.
Does anyone have any knowledge or advice for me please?
I work a physically demanding job and am worried now that this will speed up the process.
