    Hi all, in the UK & flying to Ireland tomorrow, I have cabin luggage only, I have some protein bars I’ve bought in Asda, can I bring them with me to Ireland or is this a no no at security????

    If the number of Asians being stopped and having foods takne off them is anything to go by, the answer is no. You cannot bring certain meats and fruits into other countries in personal luggage and there are signs to this effect in the airport, especially in the baggage hall and controlled entry points.

    Protein bars woukd count as chocolate/confectionary, so you are OK.
