Vouchers that is (can't edit title sorry)

The Dublin store will close within 3 months and be replaced with Brown Thomas (2 floors) and possibly sister company Penny's for the other 2 floors.

How is Penny’s a sister company of BT?
And they already have a store in Dundrum

Penneys is owned by Associated British Foods which is majority owned by the UK based bit of the Weston family

Selfridges, which Brown Thomas is a part of, is owned by the Canadian bit of the Weston family.

The more interesting cross-link is that the current patriarch and matriarch of the Canadian bit were around at the start of Penneys (Hilary is Irish to begin with)

They have said they will close the existing BT2 branch.

Well didn’t they already not honour vouchers last year when they went bust and sports direct took it over? Seem to remember lots of people got stung. So you’d want to have your head examined if you bought new ones since.

Not a store I ever warmed to. Seemed overly pricey, even in sales. Was in it again a while back and it’s more like lines of Sports direct now but with still high prices.
BT will make a far better go of it

Nope, know someone who is still chasing the UK receiver for their money back, was a €200 gift card - would say its lost money now.

+1 If you have vouchers, you are an unsecured creditor. Which puts you at the back of the queue behind Revenue (HMRC in the UK), employees (backpay and holiday entitlements) and secured creditors (loans secured on company property).

So best to toss them in the bin and get on with your life.
