Dog Surgery - Stitches Opinions Please

Our dog had surgery on Monday and I'm a little uncomfortable with the look of the stitches he has as a result. I don't mind that they're ugly, it's that there doesn't seem to be enough stitches to bring the flesh together properly. Or maybe I'm worrying about nothing, so I'd like to have an outside opinion. The vet is happy with them but thanks in advance for any input.

(The length IRL is about 4 inches)

The outside layer of skin will come together no problem, in fact when I had my appendix removed they didn't even stitch the outside skin layer at all and it still healed, although with a dog, of course, that wouldn't be very practical. There's almost certainly another denser layer of soluble stitches that you can't see that hold the abdominal muscle layer together.

They look good to me! Bear in mind there'll be sub dermal stitches too.

In my experience a small pimple looking sore will appear in about a month as they get expelled () Here's a pic of Bailey's war wound for comparison - warning it's a bit gross as there's some dried blood on the dressing  Stitches are coming out on sat!

Look fine. They're tension relieving sutures so they look normal
