    Hi all.
Just looked at my gomo bill for January. lo and behold I see 9 sms messages to a premium service that I never subscribed to 9 x €2.50 each. On checking this scam I see it is Mobiplanet. I remember getting message from them mid January telling me that I had subscribed to some service & if I wished to unsubscribe to text STOP to 57976. I had not subscribed to them at any time, but after I texted STOP the deductions were taken from my account within a matter of 1 second. Any advice on how to deal with this.

How do you pay your bill, by direct debit or by card (debit card or credit card)? If by card is a charge back possible?

Pay by direct debit, Have contacted Comreg so will see if they are of any assistance, also sent e-mail to MOBIPLANET the shower that operate this scam asking for full refund.

Are you sure it said "to unsubscribe text STOP"? What I have noticed with these texts is that they are worded the way that texting STOP will actually register you for subscription. An example I've just found on Reddit says:
"FreeMsg: Your FREE TRIAL to GamesUnltd is here! Free for 24hr, 30 days access for 20.00 EUR after. Send STOP to 57977. Help 016869147 support@red27mobile.com"

As you see, it doesn't say anything about unsubscribing, it just says "Send STOP". This is to confuse people who will think that it will stop these texts but they actually end up subscribing.

I'm not saying that this is what happened in your case but if you still have the text, check the wording.

Happened to a friend of mine. She emailed them and was told in a very detailed way that she had agreed to subscribe.

Did you ever get this sorted?

My daughter was caught out by this recently. Total cost over €100. I got a full refund, but only after a lot of effort.

Happened me before; I had to find out who the provider was and then eventually got a phone number for them.

I said I never gave my explicit permission to them to deduct money from me and that I wanted it to be returned. They eventually returned it.

Try find out who they are and an address from them and send written letter, email and follow up with a phone call.

Lots of people get scammed like this and most do nothing about it

Sadly this is an ongoing scam. You have to jump up and down and stamp your feet and shout loudly to solve this. You will get your money back but it will take time. Also, get onto Gomo livechat and tell them to set up a premium block. That will stop it happening again.

My elderly mother got caught and as she was DD, she never noticed. Totalled a couple of hundred euro. When made aware, I bounced of the text company and Comreg.. I caused such a stink, they knew I wouldnt let go. I was threatening the company in Holland along with CCing the emails to Comreg. Comreg pretty poor but when I got them on the phone and discovered they were in Tallaght, I "offered" to go into their office to discuss it with them.

    Got every penny back.
