I see on the terms and conditions 'You must be a First Time Buyer and have a personal current account in the Republic of Ireland.'

My current account is with AIB, am I still eligible for the 2k bonus?

Hi Billythekid19,

Thanks for reaching out to us here today on Boards.ie.

We're glad to hear you are interested in opening a Mortgage Saver account with Bank of Ireland. There are a few things needed to qualify for the bonus interest. In relation to your query, one them would be to have a current account within the Republic of Ireland. You would not need a Bank of Ireland current account to claim this bonus.

You can find information on the other criteria for the bonus here.

Many thanks,
Richard

Thanks for the response.
One of the terms is '
• Use the money saved in your MortgageSaver account to help purchase your first home.
[*]
What exactly does this mean? If a deposit has already been paid does it mean you need to use the account to make mortgage repayments?
