Tyrone won under 17 in 2017 so 11/1 is great bet. Meath leinster champions that same year decent outside bet at 14/1.

Munster is either Cork or Kerry. Very little between those them but Kerry might have slight edge.

Connacht is going to be toughest to call where three teams will fancy their chances. Roscommon who were All Ireland finalists in 17 have a chance of winning province if they can keep their top five forwards on the pitch. The loss of giant midfielders Shane Cunnane (injury) and Darragh Murray (Rugby?) robs Roscommon of their top midfielders though. I think Galway might have too much for Mayo Saturday though Mayo will have confidence gained from recent developmental league win.

Grand for the FBD or some lesser competition but penalties to decide a championship game is ridiculous. GAA HQ better have the sense to scrap that way to decide games.

GAA HQ have shown that they only care about senior IC. Everything else is a sideshow and an annoyance particularly the club game.

Laois 0-13 Westmeath 1-10 after extra time
    Laois won 4-3 on penalties.

As I said already it's ridiculous penalties are used to find a winner in a championship match.

    Why?

They're used in World Cup finals. That's pretty big. Or is it just the in thing to be saying these days?

Kerry 0-5 Cork 1-6 at half time in the Munster final, a poor enough goal given away by Kerry 5 minutes before the break but good pressure by Cork to turn the ball over. Match is live on TG4.

Half time Dublin 0-11 Laois 0-5. Dublin have taken over after a slow start.

All over Dublin U20 Leinster champions for the 2nd year in a row. Dublin 0-18 Laois 0-8. Laois night summed up with a penalty kicked wide late on.

A big surprise the Connacht final was so one sided Galway 20 point winners. Tyrone won the Ulster final by 5 points.

All Ireland semi finals on March 17th

    Galway v Kerry
    Tyrone v Dublin

    Double header in Croke Park.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,088 ✭✭✭manofwisdom

HQ has said the semi-finals will take place in Croke Park on St. Patrick's Day, March 17.

Galway will play Kerry at 2pm, with Dublin playing Tyrone at 3.45pm.

Both matches will be broadcast live on TG4.

Dublin into the U20 All Ireland final for a 2nd year in a row. Can they go one better than last year and win it this time?

    FT Dublin 1-14 Tyrone 1-12.

Good side. Tyrone kicked themselves out of it, didn’t take their chances. Fair play to Dublin for pegging them back though. They certainly didn’t look like 2/1 underdogs

Good half of football with Kerry leading by 2 points.

    HT Kerry 1-7 Galway 1-5

Great win for Galway considering the amount of first choice players they were without.

    FT Galway 1-15 Kerry 1-10.

Great win for Galway considering the amount of first choice players they were without.

    FT Galway 1-15 Kerry 1-10.

This wasn't close to a full strength Kerry team by any means either to be fair.

Galway well worth their victory today. Very solid defence and forced a lot of frees up front.

You’d wonder what’s going on in Kerry, a complete failure to bring their minors through to success, 5 in a row at minor and nothing to show as yet at u20.

Some of those Galway frees were fairly soft. They definitely deserved the win on the day though, and Kerry seemed to fade quite badly in the latter stages - maybe they didn't have the options off the bench they would have expected after all the players being ruled out yesterday. Pity both teams were so far off full strength. Hopefully Galway will have some of their absentees back for the final if it goes ahead.

FT in the final Galway 1-11 Dublin 0-13

Congrats to Galway on a deserved win, finish their football season on a real high. Decent fight back by Dublin but too little to late. U20 All-Ireland final defeat for a 2nd year in a row.

As a neutral I felt it was a good call by ref at end not to award free. Dublin player made it look too much like he was playing for a free. A little more subtle and he’d probably have got it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,023 ✭✭✭Speakerboxx

Anytime Kerry and Dublin are beaten in any grade is a great day for the GAA neutrals.

    Congratulations to Galway.

Perhaps something stirring out west? Have been in a few minor finals last couple years too soo there's a bit of quality coming through.
