Ring 2 door bell installation question

    Hi.

    I the process of installing the ring2 doorbell. My question is can I connect the wires from the existing doorbell to the ring device to retain the existing chime. It says only use ac current 8-24 volts.

    Tried it and it works no smoke so far.
