I have 5 of them bought from the Dresslilly site a few years ago. Working a treat still

Was going to order 3 but would have brought it over the €22 customs free limit.

With free delivery I always order items separately to make custom people work harder :P

I used 6 of these all connected to Alexa. They all work perfectly!

They will, they just don't work with certain characters in/ or really long WiFi SSID and password, although some Vodafone routers password rules prevent simpler passwords on their main WiFi they will allow them on their guest Wifi (also setting guest WiFi to 2.4ghz only helps during pairing).

I think it might be the 5Ghz issue also. I had to switch off 5Ghz on my VM router to get them to pair when they couldnt "see" the 2.4Ghz network

I have been using these for a couple of years with an excellent custom firmware (ESPurna: https://github.com/xoseperez/espurna), and find them pretty reliable (occasional drop-out from my Wifi, but that is based on strength of the signal in certain points in the house).

ESPurna allows for integration with various home automation systems, as well as control & scheduling via a web interface (so no chinese cloud system & app required anymore). Control also becomes possible via telnet / curl / http etc.

Any information on how you flashed these? Can you do it over wifi or do you need a USB adaptor?

You'll have to do some soldering and have a serial connection to the board (USB->UART probably). There's good instructions here. Documentation for Tasmota firmware is pretty good. The instructions can be followed for other firmware if you want.
