    Hi,

Looking for some advice. My father in law lives alone and is unable to walk. He has been approved for Home Support Service since October but they have no hours to visit him. Health nurse came weekly but since Xmas no visits.

I am thinking of becoming his carer as I fit all the requirements except one. I live in Enniskillen. It says you have to resident in the state to become a carer. He lives 30 mins away from me. Are they strict on this rule?

    Thanks in advance.

I am not entirley sure how that would work although you are only 30 mins away you are in another country.

Why not pop in to the citizans advice in the town where your father in law live's they would probably be able to tell you

You can’t get Carers Allowance if you don’t live in the Rep of Ireland.
