Job Application Advice?

Hello, I am a Graduate and what I have been doing so far doesn't seem to be working so I need some advice with regards improving my CV/Cover letter, if possible.

    1. Tailoring: When tailoring to a job, should I pick key words just from the job requirements/specs or should I pick key words from the duties of the job as well?

    2. Cover Letter: When attaching a Cover Letter in an online job application portal, does the address of the company still need to be in the letter?

    3. Profile of CV: Whats the best advice for constructing a profile for the CV?

    Thanks.

I don't understand what you mean by (1)

The cover letter needs to be personalised for each job. You don't need the address of the company. Just make sure the content of your cover letter is selling you and your skills for the exact job you're applying for.

Your CV shouldn't have a profile.

    Thanks for your response.

Regarding (1), I mean using keywords from the job spec in you CV for the Applicant Tracking System. I suppose I was just cautious of stuffing too many keywords into the CV/Cover Letter.

A well written cover letter would include those words naturally, because you should be pointing out why you're suitable for the job.

If you still have a problem with writing a cover letter, I can recommend an online constructor to use. I’ve decided to change my profession and didn’t have experience. Therefore, I understood the resume wouldn’t be enough and I needed a strong cover letter. I used a web developer template from this site https://www.getcoverletter.com/cover-letter-examples/web-developer/ since I was interested in this sphere, but there’s also a wide variety of other samples. My career moved forward. Maybe, It will be useful for you too.
