Country dealers versus Dublin dealers

    Hi All

    Quick question

Is it cheaper to buy from Country Dealers(ie outside Dublin , but within Leinster) that it is from Dublin based Dealers?

Was looking at various car sites and it looked like the same car(IE year/spec etc) was available at cheaper price in the Country than Dublin.

    But is that actually correct/true?

Is there any drawbacks with Country Dealers V Dublin Dealers?

    TIA

I got a good deal on a petrol car a number of years ago in Waterford. There will most likely be some difference, but it will totally depend on the individual car.

4 years ago I bought an ex lease passat, 6 month old less than 10k on the clock. Dealer in Dublin had same car up for 1000 cheaper than best deal I could do down the country. Eventually the local dealer matched the Dublin retailer.

I think it just pays to shop around, use the Web, phone and visit garages. And if you can, do a straight deal. Be prepared to walk away.

I would say you can do better outisde of Dublin. I didn't have great experiences with any vw dealer in Dublin but Western motors in drogehda gave me a much better deal.

I've had rubbish in the past from Dublin dealers like oh it's not a D reg so not worth as much..was an opell Astra..that said..I bought my previous car from.a Dublin skoda dealer..would have no problems recommending

It can boil down to the particular garage/dealer rather than their location. I've gotten better deals from dealers both in and outside Dublin.

Depends what you are buying, what you are trading in, time of year, etc.

In the past I've had much better quotes from country dealers for some cars but then again the same was true for Dublin based dealers....
