Reverse Osmosis System - Flushing

    Hi all,
I have a 5 stage RO pumped undersink system.
I'm wondering about the flushing valve.
When I open the valve, should I empty 2 litres of water first then open it ? (It's unclear to me from the manual - see the picture attached)

Or should I only open it once the tank is full ? I thought this was the procedure as then the water flushes out of the drain to clean any excess sediment etc..

If the tank is full, however, and I open that valve shouldn't the pump start again so this it is flushing out the system? as right now if the tank is full and I open that valve the pump does not start again (unless I open the water tap and thus release some water from the RO reservoir tank)

Basically I'm a bit confused as to the operation and what should happen....
