If he didn't "give up the backstop" we'd have the hard border already as the UK would have crashed out with no transition deal. I suppose you had a better plan?

That was sorta always on the cards. Boris could never get a trade deal if he could not secure the borders.. They are painting it as a bargaining chip.. Its going to hurt british Just in time food chains and their car industry very much.. No large company in UK can ignore this and will have to start planning exit plans if necessary.

These sort of checks are not going to happen here cross border - backstop deal - whatever the last thing negotiated precludes that.

He could have heald his nerve and if Britain crashed out they would be screaming surrender by the end of the week. We were prepared for a crash out weren't we

Boris has a copy of The Art of The Deal by Trump, and is playing it play by play/

Hard ball starts now with EU, The threats begin, and the reality kicks in. They want NO alignment with EU whatsoever, the deal they signed means as much as a footballers contract.

The funny thing is that they've dragged things out so much, everyone else has prepared from them to crash out and do their own thing, every country in the world, big or small, has them over a barrel when it comes to the terms of any deal.

Looks like if Borris doesn't het his way we'll have a had border and a resurgence of terrorism

The UK will be broke as fcuk if they go ahead with that plan. Most of their manufacturing will collapse and the tariffs imposed by the EU will see the end of the rest. It'll end up looking like Greece in less than 10yrs.
