Hi, We are currently with Sky at the moment and we have gave our notice to cancel. I am completely new to Free to air and I was wondering if someone can give any guidance on what is required etc? I am based in west Wicklow - would anyone have a recommendation for someone to do the install?

Any idea on what the cost might be?

We are looking to get Free to Air Ireland and UK channels.

We would like the ability to record programs if that is available.

We currently have Sky Q and Im on the understanding that the satellite dish can also be used? Can you confirm?

Any advise that can be offered is greatly appreciated as we currently dont have a clue:)

    Thank you.

The dish can be used but the LNB will likely need to be changed unless you are lucky.

If you have the basic ability to deal with the technology then the details in this thread would be one of the better options for the receiver to fit.

So essentially you will need a suitable aerial fitted and aligned and probably a new LNB fitted to the dish, and the cables brought into your selected location in the house.

Installers generally offer to fit receivers but these would not be 'as advanced' as that in the thread linked above, but nevertheless might suit your needs.
