I'm currently 15 going 16 and I would like to do a summer job(Dublin) Does anyone hire 16 year olds, wouldn't mind any job really. I did some work experience in a charity shop ( 1 day a week for a couple of months) and I'm currently about to start work experience at supervalu.

If you do well in your work experience in super valu they might keep you kn for the summer. My daughter is in ty and did her work experience in the local shop. They kept her on and she does saturdays and one evening a week at the moment

Will you be 15 or 16 this summer?

There are different permissible working hours depending on your age.

15 year olds can only work 8 hours a week. 16 year olds can do 35hours. So to an employer, it makes a difference.

I work part time at a supervalu, they take on a lot of staff.
Show up, do the work they give you, look for more if you're bored and you'll be ahead of most people there.

I started just before X-mas and I was kept on.
I'm now getting more shifts than members of staff who have been there longer simply because I go out looking for things to do, learn to empty the compactor, the coffee machine, clean the floors - doing all of those silly little jobs mean you're a little more valuable than those who avoid them.
