When buying a house is there a way (online) to find out the previous rent a house was rented for.

Failing that if you call the RTB are they obliged to tell you ?

    thanks

I doubt the RTB will give you the answer. Their public register does not show rent levels, and they would probably have a Data Protection problem disclosing that information. Just ask the selling agent for details of the most recent rent, when it was last let out, and when the last rent review was.

According to one of the guys on one of the other threads by law the LL has to provide you with the rate he had the previous tenant paying and can increase 4%. Should be on the RTB website I’m sure.
