Job seekers benefit to Illness Benefit

I'm currently claiming JSB for the days I'm not working since my days in work where reduced late last year.

I've just been diagnosed with an illness and am likely to be out of work for a number months at least so I got my first monthly cert from my doctor.

I know usually there is a 6 day waiting period for illness benefit, does this apply if coming from casual JSB?

Also do I need to inform my local welfare office or will the illness benefit department do this? I presume I send in this weeks X and O form as normal as it runs until Thursday.

    Thanks
