I need to buy a double bale lifter. Just looking for opinions on which ones are the best put together/strongest ones that don't have welds splitting after a few years. Make 4-500 bales here every year.

Have a Nugent here, can't fault it seems well made, its a bit wide for narrow gaps but its handy as I can pick up 2nd bale without taking off the 1st one.

Got it delivered from McCorry's in the North, local places were too dear

What type of tractor would you be using the double handler on?

Have a 390T 4WD with loader here and I’m very tempted to go for a nugent double handler.

A neighbour i help out has a 120hp tractor so it'll be going on it.
Three bales on a 390T seems like a fair load, they wouldn't want to be wet. Would two not be plenty on it.

Yeah I’d say for comfort you would want 120HP up front.

I do bring two on it, one on the front and one on the back, contractor has a welger baler so I’d say with the loader up front it should work it

i find a good hydraulic toplink is handy and you can tilt in handler and have no fear of losing either bale from back but you need a good heavy tractor for 3 bales for sure, especially on hilly or rough ground and keep loader as low as you can

Have Fleming one here it's grand. 7840 with 400kg of weights on the front, wheels were up in the air without the weights and would still back up hills

Little late to this but anyway, the Hourihane handler are some job, push out on both sides so can leave a decent gap between bales and just pull it in with the roller, it would be an achievement to tear the plastic on a bale and our ford 7810 will handle 2 fusion bales on the back with a full set of weights. Have had it for a long time now and no welds or cracks at all

They aren’t fit for the double bales unless it’s nearly hay. I’ve a 398 and it struggles to even lift two damp bales. I put a single up front and one on back and no hassle

I agree, I find the hourihane handler great. The hydraulic extendable rollers can extend the most of 5 foot so you can reverse in with the handler over the bale, drop it down, pull them back in and off you go both bales perfect.

I have 2 of them here. They did require reinforcement but have handled a lot of fusion bales with a lot of "drivers" I like the way they work. Not having to drop off the first bale before picking up the second one saves serious time and wear and tear on clutches, brakes & Driver!

Would you have the link to the donedeal ad by any chance?
