Ordered 500L Kerosene this AM from the usual local supplier. €360 which seems about average in Leinster this week.

For the giggles checked prices in UK. 500L of Kerosene would only cost €280 today delivered in Essex area. Thats a big difference between UK and IRL. €80 on a 500L delivery?

    Is that the norm?

UK quote from www.boilerjuice.com and XE used for XE rate https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=236.80&From=GBP&To=EUR

Not sure from your post which part of Leinster you are based.

For your information, AIRSIDE OIL which delivers to North & West Dublin is currently quoting 500 Litres Kerosene @ €353

    Dublin quote
Price as of 25 Jan 2020, 11 AM
    500 Litres
    €353.00
    (around 70.6c a litre)

    1000 Litres
    €688.00
    (around 68.8c a litre)

Thanks for that will check them out. Still a bit of a difference in €353 and €280. I know historically the UK paid more for their Petrol/Diesel but Kerosene must just be cheaper there/have less TAX

    You are welcome.

I was comparing it to the Leinster average you quoted at €360 figure.

Unless you are travelling over & back to the UK on a very regular basis, it is outside your control. Petrol/diesel has often been higher in price at UK garage forecourts down through the years.

In case you have not come across this price comparison website although; not all suppliers are willing to publish their rates so you may find cheaper off site.

Looking back I often recall other items that tended to nearly always cost more in the UK in comparison to Ireland. Items such as ice cream & packets of crisps come to mind whereas; chocolate used be cheaper in UK.

Carbon tax and different vat rate.

    Vat 5% v 13.5% here
No carbon tax in UK yet

Difference in wages, kero is cheaper in North/England, about 55 cent a litre, give or take.

This morning the cheapest Kerosene Home Heating Oil deliveries to Cork region seemed to be costing as follows:

    €360 for 500 Litres
    or
    €700 for 1,000 Litres

    https://www.cheapestoil.ie/heating-oil-prices/Cork

Unless anyone has a new promo discount code or updated price quote offering lower in the Cork region?

    .
Can only assume your tangenting to discussing filling up the car in UK. That's negligible savings.
Carrying any fuels over other than in your tank is both smuggling and highly dangerous on a ferry.

You also, OP, need to be sure that you're comparing our kerosene with the same spec over there. Ours is a light grade, the same as our aviation fuel. Theirs, I can't recall.
But multiple reasons for the difference, taxes and never under-estimate price fixing in Ireland.

Ah yes, I would have been referring to someone driving while across the water and filling up their tank (i.e.) if it was significantly cheaper while visiting the other jurisdiction. I would never encourage or recommend the smuggling/tampering of fuel.

Petrol is about the same price, Diesel is about 15c - 20c more expensive.

Kerosene is cheaper. Kero here and kero in uk is identical

Its all down to excise duties, vat & carbon tax. Nothing else
