'Mind your own business'

Do you ever feel that this is a weak come back? There's always a better response than this. Sometimes I can't think of anything else, and when I hear myself saying the words "mind your own business, I might as well be saying "you've succeeded in pissing me off". Even a response like "what's it to you?" puts a bit of pressure on the other person.

Anyway, recently I was quick enough on my feet to come up with something better. Over the Christmas at my grand parents house I had spotted an interesting book, so I asked my grand dad if I could borrow it just to be sure. When we were leaving, in front of others, my fat cousin asked me "did you tell grand dad you were taking that?". I did not like the lack of subtlety to this question, with the way it painted me out to be an idiot. And as if it was her place to be asking me anyway. I replied to her - "Why don't you ask him!". Certainly better than saying "mind your own business"! I thought I had her there, but the bloody c**t comes back by saying "I'm asking you". I never thought she was that high up on her horse!

So I replied "good luck Rachel" and turned my back and walked out the door. Anyway, I know something about her that will hurt her, and until now I thought it might be a bit unclassy to use it against her. But after that display of arrogance I'm definitely going all out on her sometime soon.

Before you get her you might want to get help.

Yes, I was shopping with the wife last week.
I was tagging along behind her and this guy kept on looking at me and I said to myself. He should mind his own business!

AHHHH jaysus, start thinking a little on yer feet there sport.

The response should have gone something like:

“Did you tell grandad you were taking that?”

“No Rachet. We were discussing how your calorie intake could feed half of India, and the subtlety of your make up would make a perfect study for an impressionist student’s painting.”

Good thing the argument didn’t happen in the car on the way to your grandad’s or your dad would’ve had to turn around and drive straight back home.

So what ghastly revenge plot will you come up with for Rachel, op? Will you eventually turn into captain Ahab spending your whole life trying to "right this wrong"?

Let it go, op. Let it go.....
