AVC and annual tax return

    Hi there,

    I usually submit my MED1 at this time of year. Looking at Revenue.ie I need to submit an annual tax return for this. However I may pay an AVC into my pension later this year (depending on bonus) before the Oct deadline and will need to submit a tax return to do this.

    Do I need to wait and submit together or will I have the ability to submit a claim for a tax refund on the AVC if/ when I pay into the pension?

    You can update the return, same as when you make a mistake... works fine
