Was replacing the engine & transmission oil today and noticed the transmission oil was white which normally indicates moisture/ water ingress but yet the there is no coolant loss or discolouration. Can anyone confirm if the transmission on scooters is stand-alone or is the white residue from the engine oil getting in.

There is two lubricants on the Xmax 125, you have engine oil and the final transmission oil which is the filler cap down by the rear wheel.
Which one is milky looking? the engine or the rear drive oil?
This time of year if used for mainly short trips the oil can get a lot of water in it from condensation, in hotter weather or longer journeys this evaporates off and doesn't show in the oil.
Not saying you don't have a bad HG but just keep an eye on it and see if there is any change in colour after a week or so of use.
