Hi, I'm looking for some advice on what device to get my parents. I'm looking for advice on what tablets could be connected by hdmi to a TV or for an android box suggestion that would do the same. Basically need to be able to view streaming websites that don't have apps on the TV screen and as my parents are a little older and have no tech knowledge at all I think that the casting option mightn't suit them. Any ideas....I know nothing about tablets myself so don't know what tablets even have hdmi capabilities these days and if android boxes allow you to stream websites or its it all app based?

Unless they specifically want a tablet to use as a tablet, I'd give up on that idea.

Just get them something like an Amazon firestick. Comes with a decent little remote, and is perfect for watching Netflix/Amazon Prime Video.

Edit: reading your post, you seem to want to give them the ability to access other streaming services? What specifically do they need to view?

Amazon fire stick would be a good call imo.
Can install Kodi if you want some non normal apps

Yeah, I'd probably go a Firestick with Kodi.

Otherwise, if you're going down the route of an IPTV subscription (which is probably your best bet for watching football), and they have a smart TV, I'd just install the Smart IPTV app on that. Easiest option for people who aren't too techy, as they just use their normal TV remote for everything.
