Looking for a Windows laptop around €700. Need the laptop for general browsing, remotely working, programming and a small bit of Photoshop. I would like a big screen for programming. Not looking for extended guarantee. Mobility is not important.

the new dell inspiron 15 5000 (5590 version code) looks good with a nice design and is not a total brick for a 15.6 inch screen size

maybe go 49 euro over your budget to get the discrete graphics version (mx250). or if you can wait a bit there is usually a dell discount going every few weeks

there seems to be an older heavier version also on sale so avoid that one

you can get an idea of what it looks like here, notwithstanding the fact that the language is some type of Hindi gibberish with a few English words thrown in for good measure.

the design is a lot more modern than this Inspiron 5000 spec level used to have.

Glasso, thanks for the suggestion. Is it the model cn55904, that you are suggesting to go with? Is this currently on sale at €799 or do you think there will be a sale coming up?

when I linked it originally the base model was under 700 and 749 for the one-up version with the mx250 card. now the base and mx150 version are the same price which makes no sense to me - seems like an error tbh

699 and 799 are probably the normal prices pre-discount

I'd wait and check in on the price section and see if they reduce the price outright or offer a discount code e.g. 10% off etc.

10% or 12% is the max they give and some model configurations may get the discount and others not.

e.g. I see that there is 14% off the top i7 spec one at the moment (also has mx250 card). 899 less 14% = 773. not a bad deal for the i7 and the mx250 card.

here is the model link again
